State Duma Deputy Sablin: German Leopard tanks are more vulnerable than Russian T-72
The Leopard tanks that the Ukrainian Armed Forces received from Germany are more vulnerable than the Russian T-72 combat vehicles. This statement was made by the head of the Russian State Duma Committee on Defense, as well as the commander of the GROM “Cascade” unmanned aircraft brigade, Dmitry Sablin.
“It’s easier to knock out a Leopard than to knock out our T-72 tank. In a T-72 you have to manage to hit vulnerable spots, but in a Leopard it’s enough to hit the roof of the turret,” said the deputy.
According to him, Russian military equipment is not inferior to Western ones. Sablin assures that the T-72 has higher hull armor protection.
It is worth noting that Kyiv received its first Leopard tanks in March last year. They were also used during the summer counter-offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, but Ukrainian troops were unable to achieve significant success with the help of Western equipment. A large number of Leopard tanks were destroyed by the Russian Armed Forces.
