The working group on special military operations (SVO) will work out a mechanism for students from new regions of the Russian Federation to receive demobilization documents, now not all students participating in hostilities can receive the necessary certificates, said Sholban Kara-ool, deputy head of the working group on SVO issues, deputy chairman of the State Duma . His words are given in the Telegram channel of United Russia.
According to him, this happens for a number of reasons – including when the military unit moved to the front line and it is impossible to get to it.
“Everything must be done so that students receive confirmation in time that they are participants in hostilities. In order not to bureaucratize the process of obtaining the required benefits prescribed by law. Appeals on this occasion will be worked out individually,” he said after a meeting with students in Lugansk.
Earlier today MP informed, that the working group on issues of SVO will work out with the Ministry of Defense the appeals of students from new regions on demobilization. Kara-ool said that about 20 people who applied to the working group are already returning from the front line.
“There are appeals to us about the fact that in the new territories – the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions – there are still students who have not been withdrawn from the army,” the deputy said, adding that the working group is checking the implementation Presidential Decree to defer conscription for students.
During the meeting with the rectors of the universities of the LPR, achieved an agreement that contract students can be transferred to free education, they will also be paid a social stipend, said Daria Lantratova, deputy secretary of the faction’s General Council, earlier.
On November 13, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the demobilization of students from the DPR and LPR from military service. Five days later, the acting heads of the DPR and LPR signed the relevant decrees. According to the documents, students who study full-time and part-time forms of education should be demobilized from military service.
