In October of this year, the State Duma of the Russian Federation may consider a bill introduced by a group of deputies and senators, which proposes to exempt volunteers participating in the military operation in Ukraine from the obligation to pay personal income tax (personal income tax) on their earnings.
“With this bill, we will synchronize legal approaches towards those who have entered into a contract with the Ministry of Defense and employees of the Russian Guard, which today also includes OMON, SOBR and other structures. Thus, we will strengthen the morale of the defenders of the Motherland, and also guarantee social support for their families,” he told the newspaper “News” Deputy head of the Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption, deputy from United Russia Anatoly Vyborny.
According to him, it is also proposed to exempt volunteers participating in the SVO from paying state fees for issuing a passport and driver’s license in case of unusability or loss of these documents. As Izvestia notes, the draft law on expanding the list of benefits for volunteers has already received a positive response from the Russian government and will soon be submitted to the State Duma for consideration.
Last week, State Duma deputies approved a package of five bills allowing the Russian Guard to create its own volunteer formations. Volunteers participating in hostilities as part of the Russian Guard formations will receive the full range of benefits and payments provided to citizens who have signed contracts with the Ministry of Defense, as well as protection from discredit and fakes
