The State Duma proposed to imprison collectors for ten years

A draft law appeared on the official website of the State Duma, in which deputies proposed to protect Russians from the illegal actions of collectors.
According to the document, collectors who engage in intimidation of debtors, threats and use violence are proposed to be severely punished. The deputies decided to supplement the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation with an article, according to which creditors and collectors can be imprisoned for up to 10 years.
“Punishment for debt collectors who use methods dangerous to life and health, threaten to destroy or damage property, should be very severe,” said Vasily Piskarev, co-author of the amendments.
Among other things, it is planned to ban violators from engaging in certain activities for a period of three years.
