A deputy from the Communist Party faction and a member of the defense committee, General Viktor Sobolev, believes that “all youth” should be sent to military training for six months. United Russia deputy Alexander Tolmachev believes that 21-day annual and mandatory military training will be enough to teach the basics of military training to Russian youth.
“The last year made it very clear to us that it is necessary to master military specialties. But, in my opinion, a one-time semi-annual course is not something that ideally matches modern conditions. But the mandatory annual fees lasting, say, 21 days is a possible and useful story for implementation,” Mr. Tolmachev wrote in his blog. Telegram.
Deputy Viktor Sobolev said that “100% of young people” should have a military specialty, and they should study for six months. In his opinion, this is necessary to draw up a mandatory mobilization reserve in the event of a “large-scale war with NATO.”
From September 1 in Russian schools will be take a course in basic military training. The leader of the party “A Just Russia – For Truth” Sergei Mironov proposed to introduce such a course. Deputy Defense Minister Valery Gerasimov said that at least 140 hours should be allocated for this course during the last two years of study.
