The State Duma proposed limiting the speed of electric scooters to 12 km/h

The State Duma is working on amendments to regulate movement on electric scooters. The issue is being dealt with by a special working group, which was created on behalf of the Chairman of the Lower House of Parliament Vyacheslav Volodin.
“Why not limit the speed to six kilometers per hour, maybe make it 12 kilometers per hour,” said “Interfax” Head of the Duma Committee on Transport Evgeny Moskvichev.
He added that deputies propose to ban the use of electric scooters by minors and certify all scooters that are brought to Russia. Mr. Moskvichev suggested that the State Duma will come to “constructive, correct decisions” by the end of the year.
On November 7, a round table was held in Moscow on the issue of changing the current rules for electric scooters. Some deputies of the City Duma proposed reducing the permissible speed while riding, some of them considered it necessary to completely ban this transport in the city.
