As State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said at the opening of the parliamentary session, one of the key issues on the deputies’ agenda for the coming months will be the budget for the next year and the planning period. He said that yesterday he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin and he conveyed to the deputies his wishes for successful work.
“Yesterday we had a meeting with our President. We discussed issues on the priority agenda of the State Duma. Vladimir Vladimirovich asked me to convey to you the wishes of successful work in the interests of our citizens, the country, so that everything works out for us,” said Viacheslav Volodin.
Vyacheslav Volodin said that 162 legislative initiatives were submitted to the State Duma in the summer. According to him, 1,342 bills are under consideration, 314 of them were adopted in the first reading, 4 – in the second.
Mr. Volodin proposes to schedule public hearings for the fall on the initiative to “ban information that promotes non-traditional relations.” He also stated that the State Duma “needs to do everything to support military personnel and their families.”
He also said that in the autumn session it is planned to hold large parliamentary hearings on the development of public electric transport in cities.
