Working conditions for foreign agents in Russia may become more stringent. This will depend on their activities. Maria Butina, a member of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, stated this in an interview with TASS. At the same time, she emphasized that there is no goal to destroy these people.
Butina believes that all the laws being adopted now are necessary in order to “protect” Russians from information influence from foreign agents. Citizens need to be informed about all aspects of their activities, she believes.
The State Duma passed a bill in the first reading that prohibits foreign agents from placing advertisements on their resources in Russia. According to the speaker of the lower house of parliament, Vyacheslav Volodin, deputies consider it necessary to block the opportunity for foreign agents to earn income in Russia.
