The State Duma increased pensions for military and non-working pensioners for 2024

The State Duma approved an increase in pensions for non-working pensioners and military personnel. For the former, the increase will be 7.5%, for the latter – 4.5%.

The law on increasing pensions for military personnel from October 1, 2024 was accepted immediately in the second and third readings. He assumes that from October 1 next year, pensions of military personnel and persons equivalent to them will be increased by 4.5%. As State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin clarified, this measure will affect more than 2.7 million people.

Also in the second and third readings was accepted a law on increasing pensions for non-working pensioners by 7.5% from January 1, 2024. As part of the law, starting next year the cost of one pension coefficient will be set at 133 rubles. 5 kopecks, as well as a fixed payment to the insurance pension – 8134 rubles. 88 kop. This will affect more than 32 million, Mr. Volodin said.

On October 25, the State Duma adopted a bill in the first reading, according to which the provisions of certain acts were suspended until January 1, 2025. Among other things, they discussed the suspension of indexation of salaries for civil servants, military and security forces, as well as judges, assistants to senators and deputies. Head of the Ministry of Finance Anton Siluanov explained the reluctance of pensioners to look for work due to a significant increase in payments.
