State Duma Deputy Chernyshov proposed returning after-school education to all schools

How reports Lenta.ru, Vice-Speaker of the State Duma from the LDPR faction Boris Chernyshov sent an appeal to the Minister of Education of Russia Sergei Kravtsov, in which he took the initiative to return the institution of after-school education to Russian schools.

According to the deputy, after-school hours in educational institutions should last up to 18-20 hours. It should include classes in sports and creative sections, preparation of homework, as well as joint work of schoolchildren on research projects.

As Chernyshov emphasized, schools should become “centers of physical and intellectual development, forming the basis for activity throughout life.”

“For parents of schoolchildren, free or affordable after-school care will allow them to more actively realize themselves in work, build a career, and provide for their children without fear for their well-being,” the deputy’s appeal says.
