The State Duma explained the “delay” of laws on mobilization: “Looking ahead is not our task”

Former Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, head of the State Duma Defense Committee Andrei Kartapolov answered the question of why legislators are only now adopting new laws regarding mobilization. Thus, the parliament continues to discuss various legislative initiatives, including those on the categories of citizens called up as part of partial mobilization, on the conditions for deferrals, and on supporting those mobilized.
“Looking ahead is not the task of deputies,” – declared Kartapolov RBC, recalling that “half a year ago, there was no talk of partial mobilization.”
He added that the deputies should respond to those “inquiries of voters that are being formed today.”
