Due to the riots on October 29, Makhachkala Airport suffered losses in the amount of 285 million rubles. This was reported in Telegram channel State Duma deputy from Dagestan Khizri Abakarov.
“Two days have passed since the shameful incident at the airport, and we continue to restore what we destroyed, broke, stole… We invited expert appraisers who are calculating how much all this destruction cost. Today, the amount of calculated damage has already reached 285 million rubles, and the calculation is still underway,” the deputy wrote.
On October 29, hundreds of Dagestanis gathered at Makhachkala airport to protest the arrival of Israeli citizens in the country. The crowd broke down the doors, broke through the cordon into the terminal and entered the runway where a plane carrying passengers from Tel Aviv was parked. General Director of Makhachkala Airport Said Ramazanov said that protesters broke cameras and fences.
Four police officers were injured, two of them are in serious condition with traumatic brain injuries. A criminal case has been opened regarding mass riots. 150 rioters have been identified, of which 83 people were detained. The Telegram channel “Morning Dagestan,” which called for violence against Jews in the region, was blocked by Pavel Durov.
