The State Duma Council called for the development of a mechanism for teachers to receive housing on social rent

The Council of the State Duma proposed to Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin to work out a mechanism for teaching staff registered as needing residential premises to receive housing under social rental contracts out of turn. The State Duma Council noted that the right of a teacher in need of housing to receive it under a social tenancy agreement is enshrined in legislation, but the mechanism has not yet been established, reports press service lower house of parliament.

The report says that the Duma is receiving requests from constituent entities of Russia with proposals on possible measures to support teachers, but the relevant ministries do not yet have an agreed position on this issue.

The right of a teaching worker to receive priority housing under a social tenancy agreement, if he is registered as needing housing, is enshrined in Part 5 of Art. 47 of the federal law “On Education”.

Previously, the Ministry of Agriculture proposed expanding the social housing rental program for villagers with the possibility of its subsequent purchase at a reduced price.
