The State Duma confirmed the preservation of the deferment from the mobilization of fathers with many children

Andrei Kartapolov, head of the State Duma Committee on Defense, said that the deferment from conscription for mobilization for fathers of three children under 16 years of age continues to operate.
“On January 26, 2023, the Committee received an official response to its appeal from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, which states that the instructions of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces dated October 4, 2022 have not ceased to operate,” Mr. Kartapolov told reporters (quoted by TASS).
On January 28, he said that draft laws on deferrals from conscription for mobilization were at the approval stage. According to him, the “legislative package” of the defense committee includes more than 20 bills on this topic. Andrei Kartapolov noted that, first of all, these documents concern families with disabled children, families with three children.
A deferment from partial mobilization is due to men who have four or more children under 16 years of age, or men who are raising one or more children without a mother up to 16 years of age. Also, a deferment is due to men who have three children under the age of 16 and a pregnant wife for a period of 22 weeks.
