Islam Khalilov, Artemy Filimonov, Victoria Volchikhina, Alexander Zhurik, Nikita Ivanov and Elizaveta Terekhova received gifts from committee chairman Nina Ostanina and State Duma vice speaker Anna Kuznetsova. First Deputy of the State Duma Committee on Education Yana Lantratova also presented schoolchildren with gift sets with State Duma symbols and books about Russia.
15-year-old Islam Khalilov and his comrades, who were working that evening in the cloakroom of the concert hall, heard the shooting and began to act in accordance with the instructions. In conversation with “RIA News” he noted that the main task was to lead people through a narrow passage to the Expo territory – and then they would sort it out. “The main thing was to get out. Get people out. I succeeded,” said Islam Khalilov.
