The State Duma asked to check Galkin, Fridman and Urgant for discrediting the RF Armed Forces

The State Duma adopted a protocol order according to which the Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption should check and prosecute artists, businessmen and bloggers for discrediting the army and anti-Russian statements. Khinshtein explained that the order was adopted in connection with the latest statements by State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin about checking the “relocants” who “watered Russia from abroad, and now have returned home with impunity.” The list includes artists, businessmen and bloggers. As Khinshtein clarified, at his suggestion, the son of the Chairman of the Government of the Samara Region, Yuri Kudryashov, was also included in the list. According to the deputy, Kudryashov is “known for his anti-Russian statements.”

The document published by Khinshtein states that materials have become widespread in the media and social networks that citizens are returning to Russia who had previously left the country and made public statements discrediting the state, the leadership and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in connection with the special operation. The protocol also refers to media reports that some of these individuals – businessmen, cultural and artistic figures, family members of civil servants – could finance the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). It is emphasized that, having returned to Russia, they do not bear any responsibility, which causes “great public indignation.”

Therefore, the State Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption was instructed to request information from the Prosecutor General’s Office about the number of administrative and criminal cases about discrediting the Russian army and calls to obstruct the use of the RF Armed Forces (Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, Articles 280.3, 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) , on calls for sanctions against Russia (Article 20.3.4 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, Article 284.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and on assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, treason).

“Identify and bring to justice persons who publicly discredit the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, as well as those who finance the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Conduct a check using the attached materials in relation to persons who publicly committed the above illegal acts,” the instructions to the committee say.

The document also identifies specific individuals with links to materials in the media and social networks. In particular, we are talking about TV presenter Ivan Urgant, businessman Mikhail Fridman, comedian Maxim Galkin (recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation), comedian Alexander Revva, comedian Alexander Gudkov, blogger Ruslan Usachev, fashion historian Alexander Vasilyev and Kudryashov.

State Duma deputies must be informed about the results of the audit. The preparation of the draft protocol order was carried out by the deputy chairman of the defense committee, Yuri Shvytkin.

On October 11, at a meeting of the State Duma, Volodin stated, that relocants who made anti-Russian statements and financed the Armed Forces of Ukraine should be checked for high treason upon their return (responsibility for high treason is established by Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, in April it was amended, according to which for espionage, issuing information constituting state secrets to foreigners, switching to the enemy’s side, etc. may result in life imprisonment). He emphasized that such relocants moved to Europe, where they began to “finance and bow to the states” that give them asylum. Then, Volodin continued, they are expelled from Europe, and they go to Israel, from where, due to the tense situation, they return back to Russia.

The day before, the State Duma speaker warned Relocants who criticized Russia said that they were not welcome back. According to Volodin, a relocant who left the country and “committed vile acts, rejoicing at the shots fired on the territory of the Russian Federation,” must realize that he is not welcome in Russia. “But if he comes here, Magadan is guaranteed for him,” Volodin clarified. To his words reacted Governor of the Magadan Region Sergei Nosov, who refused to accept “scoundrels” from among the relocants and called not to use the old cliché, according to which all traitors should be sent to Magadan.

Commenting on Volodin’s statement, press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov notedwhat the speaker of the State Duma said about those who took a pronounced anti-Russian position and sided with the Kyiv regime. With such people, according to Peskov, “we are not on the same path.” For the rest, the homeland is always waiting, he added.
