The State Duma approved the draft law on protection against illegal decisions of international bodies

The State Duma approved amendments to the law “On Security”, thanks to which the President of Russia will be empowered to protect citizens if international bodies take decisions against them that contradict Russian law. About it informed Deputy Speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin in his Telegram channel.

Volodin added that amendments to the Criminal Code on responsibility for those who will facilitate the execution of illegal decisions of foreign organizations in relation to military personnel and volunteers, as well as officials of public authorities, were also approved. According to Volodin, in this case, the punishment is in the form of imprisonment for a period of 5 years.

He clarified that these legislative initiatives were adopted “in connection with the illegal actions of international organizations, including the International Criminal Court.”

Bill made for consideration by the State Duma on April 13. The initiators were Volodin, the leaders of all parties and other deputies of the Lower House of Parliament. According to the Chairman of the State Duma, this bill will allow “to protect the country from illegal, unfriendly and aggressive actions of various international organizations.”

17 March Criminal Court in The Hague gave out an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Children’s Rights Ombudsman Maria Lvova-Belova. Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the decisions of the International Criminal Court have no legal force and are void. Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said that this decision would have “monstrous” consequences for international law, and added that “the practical value [в этом нет] no”.
