Vice Speaker of the State Duma Chernyshov announced a “hidden epidemic of fatherlessness” in Russia
The average father in Russia pays attention to children only 35 minutes a day. Such data was presented to RIA Novosti by the Vice-Speaker of the State Duma from the Liberal Democratic Party Boris Chernyshov.
On his behalf, large-scale offline and online surveys of Russian fathers were conducted, the results of which turned out to be depressing. It turned out that the average father spends only 35 minutes a day with his children. 56% of respondents referred to employment, and 23% said they did not know how to organize a joint vacation.
The survey was conducted from 20 to 27 July through a questionnaire in social networks and interviews on the streets of Moscow. In total, 1.2 thousand people took part.
Chernyshov called the situation “an epidemic of hidden fatherlessness.” “There is, as it were, a dad, but there is no dad,” Chernyshov commented on the results of the study.
According to the Deputy Speaker of the State Duma, the involvement of fathers in the upbringing of children is a key factor in preserving the family.
