The State Duma announced that Volodin had a military registration specialty

State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin studied at the military department, and then took courses at the military university, transmits the press service of the lower house in the Telegram channel.

The report says that in 1986 Volodin graduated from the Faculty of Organization and Technology of Machine Repair of the Saratov Institute of Agricultural Mechanization named after V.I. M.I. Kalinina (SIMSKh). At the university, he studied at the military department.

“After the 4th year, I passed military training on the basis of the Ulyanovsk Guards Higher Tank Command twice Red Banner, Order of the Red Star School. V. I. Lenin (UGVTKU). At the end of the institute, he was awarded the first military officer rank – lieutenant, ”the press service specified. They also added that Volodin is currently a reserve colonel.

Volodin said earlier today that serving in the army and having a military specialty should be a prerequisite for admission to the civil service. According to him, all future personnel decisions should be made “taking into account the need to serve in the Armed Forces, the presence of a military specialty.” In this case, a system of personnel lifts will be implemented, in which every person, regardless of his place of work, “can and must defend” the country.

Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu at a meeting on increasing the size of the Armed Forces earlier declaredthat large-scale changes in the Russian army, including an increase in its strength to 1.5 million people, will be implemented during 2023-2026.
