The Ukrainian authorities did not have the right to deprive the citizenship of the country of politicians Viktor Medvedchuk, Taras Kozak, Andriy Derkach and Renat Kuzmin. This was stated by the deputy of the Bundestag of Germany from the right-wing party “Alternative for Germany” Peter Bystron.
According to the deputy, a year before the start of hostilities, the Opposition Platform – For Life party was the most popular in Ukraine. She advocated a peaceful settlement of the conflict in the Donbass and the development of cooperation with Russia, Bystron emphasized.
The German MP noted that the illegal detention of Medvedchuk contradicts the current Ukrainian legislation and European standards in the field of human rights protection. Therefore, the German authorities should stop contacts with Ukraine.
