The State Duma adopted an amendment that prohibits the personnel of the Russian Guard from publishing their photos, videos, and other information about themselves, allowing them to locate themselves, in the media and on the Internet. It is also prohibited to publish information about the Russian Guardsmen dismissed from service and information about the activities of the Russian Guard troops.

This amendment was introduced for the second reading of the bill, which allows former National Guardsmen to serve in mobilization in the National Guard troops. Amendments are being made to the law “On the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation”.

The author of the bill, deputy Alexander Khinshtein, proposes, during mobilization, to send citizens who are in the reserve and served in the National Guard in positions for which special police ranks are provided, to serve in the same troops in the same positions. According to the author of the bill, this will make it possible to use the service and combat experience of the former National Guardsmen as efficiently as possible.

The ban on the publication of photos and videos applied to the military serving in the National Guard, but not to other part of the National Guard – for example, OMON and SOBR officers. Thus, the adopted amendments introduce uniform requirements for all personnel of the National Guard regarding the publication of photos, videos, and other information about the department.
