The deputies of the State Duma adopted statement in connection with the execution of Russian prisoners of war by Ukrainian soldiers, in which they called on parliamentarians around the world to condemn the crimes of Kyiv.

“Deputies of the State Duma call on the parliaments of the world’s states to unequivocally condemn the crimes of the Kyiv regime, to help bring to justice the direct perpetrators of the inhuman murder, as well as their patrons,” the document says.

The deputies also recalled that the killing of prisoners of war is a flagrant violation of International Humanitarian Law, including the Geneva Convention on the Treatment of Prisoners of War of 1949. The authors of the statement called on the West to refuse to support the neo-Nazi ideology, the principles of which Kyiv is implementing in its activities today, pushing the world with provocations and escalation to a global catastrophe.

The document was initiated by the State Duma committees on defense and international affairs. The head of the LDPR party, Leonid Slutsky, earlier called for all those who were involved in this crime not to be allowed to escape responsibility.

On November 18, two videos appeared on Telegram channels, which allegedly depicted the execution of Russian servicemen who had surrendered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

After that, the Russian Ministry of Defense called these shots a confirmation of the “knackering essence of the current Kyiv regime.” The department stressed that this case is not the first war crime committed against Russian prisoners of war.

Dmitry Polyansky, Deputy Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the UN, said earlier that the Russian side had circulated a letter to the UN Security Council and the UN General Assembly addressed to the Secretary General of the organization António Guterres with evidence of ill-treatment of Russian prisoners of war by Ukraine.
