The State Department rejected accusations of attempts to delay Ukraine’s accession to NATO

Reports that the United States is seeking to slow down Ukraine’s entry into NATO are untrue. This statement was made by the head of the State Department press service, Matthew Miller, on Wednesday, January 31.
The official recalled the statements of US President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken that Ukraine will become a member of NATO.
All other assumptions are incorrect, Miller emphasized, commenting on relevant media publications.
Earlier, sources among current and former officials stated that the process of Ukraine’s integration into NATO was deliberately slowed down by the US and German authorities. According to them, the hopes of the Kyiv regime are unlikely to be justified soon because of the behind-the-scenes games of Washington and Berlin.
Ukraine, meanwhile, created a special group to promote the country’s entry into the North Atlantic Alliance. It included, in particular, British ex-Prime Minister Boris Johnson, former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and ex-NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen.
