A U.S. State Department spokesman said on Friday that Washington is concerned about a rapprochement between China and Russia as Moscow continues its special military operation in Ukraine.
The US Foreign Office noted that Beijing declared neutrality, but its behavior shows that it continues to “invest in the development of ties with the Russian Federation.”
The State Department official recalled that the United States warned China about the consequences of Russia’s help in the special operation and circumventing sanctions, and stressed that Washington is closely following Beijing’s steps.
Recall that today the leaders of Russia and China, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, held talks and confirmed their focus on cooperation in various fields.
