On September 21, President Vladimir Putin held a meeting of the State Council Presidium on the development of the labor market. At the meeting, the State Council commission proposed allowing full-time students to work from the third year. The chairman of the education group added that this practice had already been used during the pandemic – then medical students took shifts.
The commission also proposed integrating “My Business” centers into the educational system; index pensions for working pensioners, which would be an incentive for them to “return to the labor market”; to accrue northern experience to individual entrepreneurs and self-employed people in the Arctic.
Also at the meeting, a request was made to the president to extend support for the national project “Demography” until 2030. The development of education, which is included in this project, would make it possible to “choose a region for vocational training and further employment,” noted a representative of the commission.
Before this, Vladimir Putin spoke at a meeting of the State Council on the development of the labor market. He called on the government to stimulate employment of the population, including youth and special operation participants, as well as to use artificial intelligence to develop this area. The plans, he said, are to move to a high-wage economy within ten years.
