The closed-type sports and recreation complex in Karpogory will become the second stage in the development of the sports infrastructure of the Pinega region. The start of the transformation was the opening of FOCOT in Pinega with the support of the Governor of the Arkhangelsk Region Alexander Tsybulsky.

The head of the Pinezhsky district, Alexander Chechulin, spoke about this.

In particular, he said that following the results of Alexander Tsybulsky’s working trip to Pinega in 2021, a decision was made to build an open-type sports and recreation complex here. In 2022, the sports facility was built as part of the federal project “Sport is the norm of life” of the national project “Demography”. But the Pinene residents decided not to stop there.

“The construction of FOCOT in Pinega was the first stage in the development of sports infrastructure in the region,” said Alexander Chechulin. – To create comfortable conditions during training and regional competitions, it is necessary to build a sports and recreation complex in Karpogory. The youth of the village made this request to the governor during his working trip in February of this year.

According to the head of the district, supplies of components for the FOC from the plant in Karpogory are already underway. It is planned to be installed by the end of next summer. There are also plans to open a sports school on the premises of the complex. For this purpose, a new stadium and karting range were designed. Currently, the design and estimate documentation for the facility is undergoing examination.

The district administration expects to implement the project within the framework of the federal program “Comprehensive Development of Rural Territories” as early as 2024: the municipality has sent a corresponding application to the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, the result of the consideration will be known by the end of 2023.

“On the basis of the sports school we plan to develop football, volleyball, basketball, skiing, martial arts, as well as certain areas: karting and sports tourism,” Alexander Chechulin shared his plans. – The infrastructure of the sports complex can be used throughout the year. Here we will also be able to hold qualifying competitions for the participation of our athletes in regional competitions.
