Speaker of the Kurultai of Bashkiria Konstantin Tolkachev today at a plenary session criticized the proposal of deputies of the Communist Party faction to condemn the world ballet star Rudolf Nureyev for his unconventional orientation. The letter and statement “We will protect the traditional values of the multinational people of Bashkortostan” were published on the website of the Bashkortostan branch of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. Konstantin Tolkachev said that Rudolf Nureyev “cannot be thrown into the mud.” According to him, this was not done “even under the CPSU.” “The struggle for moral values is being waged today in the special operation zone. Please, colleagues, military registration and enlistment offices are open. The recruitment of volunteers is constant. So far, not a single communist deputy has gone to the front line,” emphasized the speaker of the Kurultai.
He expressed the hope that the letter signed by Yunir Kutluguzhin does not reflect the general position of the faction, and recommended that his behavior be reviewed at the meeting of the Communist Party faction.
Vice-speaker of the Kurultai, member of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Vadim Starov said that the Communist Party faction did not submit such a question to the state assembly, but the letter was sent for discussion at one of the future round tables, since some citizens had made such a proposal.
