The Speaker of the House of Representatives did not support combining aid to Israel and Ukraine

Requests for United States military assistance to Israel and Ukraine must be considered separately. This statement was made by the new Speaker of the US House of Representatives Mike Johnson (Republican from Louisiana) on Fox News.
“Israel is a separate issue. We are going to propose a separate measure of funding for Israel of more than $14 billion,” he said (quote according to Reuters).
Discussing further funding for Ukraine, Johnson noted that the House of Representatives would like to know the “ultimate goal” of the United States in Ukraine, but the White House does not provide such information. He added that it is necessary to ensure that the US presidential administration “responsibly spends” the allocated funds.
October 20 Biden requested Congress has allocated additional funding, aimed, among other things, at providing military assistance to Israel and Ukraine. The total amount of the request exceeds $106 billion. As Reuters notes, Biden included a request for aid to Israel to convince Republicans in the House of Representatives of the need for additional funding for Ukraine.
October 26 US State Department announced on a new tranche of military assistance to Ukraine in the amount of $150 million. The package includes air defense systems, artillery and anti-tank weapons.
Russia has repeatedly criticized the supply of Western equipment and weapons to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Earlier, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that military support for Kyiv from the West cannot influence the outcome of the special operation, it only delays the fighting.
