In Norway released from the arrest of the son of the former head of Russian Railways Andrei Yakunin. On October 17, he was detained in the port of Hammerfest on his yacht on charges of flying a drone over Norwegian territory on Svalbard.
His lawyers said that the man used the drone for personal purposes, as he loves to travel. Human rights activists noted that Yakunin has a business in England and he lives in Italy. Therefore, he can lose everything if he avoids prosecution in the Schengen country.
It is noteworthy that during the arrest, Yakunin said that he was a citizen of Great Britain, not Russia.
Earlier, Oslo closed the skies to Russian aircraft and banned Russians from using aircraft in Norway. However, the court refused to consider Yakunin’s drone an aircraft subject to the ban.
