Astronomers have explained what is the mystery
A partial solar eclipse is expected in the capital on October 25th. On this day, at 13:38, the Moon will hide 71 percent of the sunlight from Muscovites.
This eclipse will be clearly visible in 89 countries, including all European countries, including Russia, Kazakhstan, the Near and Middle East, Egypt, Libya, North Sudan and Ethiopia. Almost all Europeans will see it, with the exception of the Portuguese and Spaniards.
As reported by “MK” at the State Astronomical Institute. Sternberg, the Moon will begin to cast penumbra, starting from Iceland, and will complete its “show” in the Arabian Sea. The maximum phase of the eclipse, reaching almost 87%, will be registered in Russia in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Yugra.
It is curious that this eclipse exactly repeats the partial eclipse that occurred 18 years ago, on October 14, 2004. The 18-year cycle, through which all solar and lunar eclipses repeat, was noticed by the inhabitants of ancient Babylon. It is called saros, which in Greek means the draconian period. Accordingly, the next eclipse of this saros will occur on November 4, 2040.
Astronomers specify that on Tuesday there will most likely not be any noticeable darkening in the sky. Sunlight is so bright that even 30 percent of it can blind anyone who dares to look at the star without a protective filter.
