The Slovakian national team beat the Icelandic team and advanced ahead of schedule to the finals of the 2024 European Football Championship. The Group J meeting took place in Bratislava and ended with a score of 4:2 in favor of the Slovaks.
For the hosts, the goals were scored by Juraj Kutska (30), Ondrej Duda (36, penalty), Lukas Haraslin scored a double (47, 55). Orri Oscarsson (17) and Andri Gudjohnsen (74) scored for the visiting team.
Slovakia is second in Group J with 19 points. The leader of the group is the Portuguese team (27 points). The group also includes teams from Luxembourg (14 points), Iceland (10 points), Bosnia and Herzegovina (9 points) and Liechtenstein (zero points).
