On Saturday, March 9, a two-day ski marathon starts in Tomsk. It will take place at the Polytechnic stadium.
Tomsk Ski Marathon will be held on March 9 and 10. According to the regional administration, the event is part of the legendary series of ski marathons and the Russialoppet Super Cup. The skiers will compete at the Polytechnic stadium (19th Gvardeiskaya Division St., 20/1). The route will run along the “Health Path”, located in the forest adjacent to the stadium with access to the terraces of the Camp Garden.
A classic style race (at a distance of 25 km and 10 km), a free style race (3 km) and a children’s race (1 km) are planned for March 9.
March 10 – freestyle race. Athletes will be offered distances of 50 km, 30 km, 25 km and 15 km.
Anyone planning to ski a distance of 3 km or more should prepare a medical certificate. It is not required for children.
“Each participant will receive a unique medal at the finish line. You can register to participate in the event using the link: tomskmarathon.ru. Currently, over 600 people are already planning to participate. Registration will last until 17:00 on March 9,” the regional administration reported.
As it became known, the marathon will be attended by Vladimir Voloshin, a legend and owner of numerous achievements in sports and business (he will run 50 km), as well as a Russian skier, silver medalist of the 2014 Winter Olympics in the relay; three-time silver medalist at world championships; winner of the World Cup and World Youth Championships, Honored Master of Sports Alexander Bessmertnykh.
