In Novosibirsk, the festive match of HC Siberia in the new LDS, dedicated to the 61st anniversary of the team, ended in a crushing defeat from CSKA.
10 thousand spectators gathered at the ice arena to cheer for the Siberians.
Already at 15:30 the building was filled with people wishing to congratulate their favorite team. The festive events were decorated in the style of the film “Operation Y”. Themed photo zones, darts and board games have been prepared for fans. The mascot of the Novosibirsk Zoo, the Bear, visited the mascot of Siberia, the Evil Snowman: visitors enjoyed taking pictures with both characters. Local musical groups performed familiar songs from Soviet films and cartoons.
At the start of the match, the Sibir hockey players arrived dressed in the images of Gaidai’s comedy film and took pictures in front of the old “Zaporozhets” in the background.
The start of the game looked promising for the Novosibirsk team. In 15 minutes, the hosts scored twice on the CSKA goal – Vladimir Butuzov and Artem Mikheev scored. However, 3 minutes before the end of the first period, the guests struck the first blow back. The second period was marked by CSKA attacks. The Siberians missed two goals and lost the initiative. In the third period, Andy Andreoff converted the power play and tied the score – 3:3. However, the joy of the Sibir fans was short-lived: the Muscovites literally immediately took the lead and scored two more goals against the hosts before the end of the match.
The final score on the scoreboard is 3:6 in favor of CSKA. Sibir’s streak of four winning matches was interrupted by a disappointing defeat on the club’s birthday.
Currently, Siberia is in 8th place with 25 points in the Eastern Conference table.
Earlier, MK in Novosibirsk reported that Sibir hockey captain Prokhorkin was disqualified for three matches.
