Deputies of the Polish Parliament approved on September 14 a resolution on war reparations from Germany for damage caused to the country during World War II. 418 parliamentarians voted for the adoption of the document, 15 abstained, 4 voted against.
Warsaw estimates damage at $1.3 billion. The Diet believes that Berlin must accept political, historical, legal and financial responsibility for the damage from the military aggression of Nazi Germany.
The deputies note that Poland has never been compensated for human and material losses.
