The cargo ship Aroyat, loaded with Ukrainian grain, left the port of Chernomorsk, Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Alexander Kubrakov said on Facebook (belongs to Meta, a banned and recognized extremist organization in Russia).
Aroyat loaded 17,600 tons of wheat for Egypt. The vessel flies the Palauan flag and is crewed by citizens of Egypt, Turkey, Belgium, Azerbaijan and Albania.
“This is already the second ship using the temporary corridor for civilian ships at the entrance to the Black Sea port to export agricultural products to Asian countries,” the Ukrainian minister noted.
Before this, three days ago, Kubrakov reported that the ship Resilient Africa with 3,000 tons of wheat left the port and headed towards the Bosphorus. The ship flies the flag of Liberia.
Resilient Africa and Aroyat are the first bulk carriers to arrived to the Ukrainian port along temporary corridors opened by Kiev after the termination of the grain deal. Earlier, Reuters indicated that a total of five ships sailed to Ukrainian ports.
In August Ukraine reportedthat two vessels Primus and Joseph Schulte, which had been there since February 2022, left the port of Odessa along temporary corridors.
On July 17, Russia left the grain deal, which was concluded in July 2022 by representatives of Turkey and the UN, on the one hand, and representatives of Russia and Ukraine, on the other. The decision was due to the failure to comply with the second part of the agreement, which concerns the abolition of restrictions on the export of Russian products.
The Ukrainian Navy on August 10 announced temporary corridors in the Black Sea for merchant ships heading from or to Ukrainian ports.
