The second ship left Odessa after the termination of the grain deal

A ship left the port of Odessa, which had been in Ukraine since February last year. Bulk carrier Primus became the second ship to leave the Ukrainian port after the termination of the grain deal, writes the Ukrainian edition of Agroportal.
According to him, the cargo ship arrived in Odessa on February 20, 2022 from the Greek port of Perama. The temporary corridor is used to evacuate ships that were in the Ukrainian ports of Chernomorsk, Odessa and Yuzhny at the time of the start of the Russian special operation, the newspaper recalls.
On August 16, he left the port of Odessa and has reached Bosphorus container ship Joseph Schulte. It became the first vessel with agricultural products to reach the strait after Russia withdrew from the grain deal. The Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov said that the ship had been in the port since February 23, 2022.
On August 10, the Ukrainian Navy announced temporary corridors in the Black Sea for merchant ships heading from or to Ukrainian ports. On August 12, the registration of merchant ships was opened, which are ready to pass on temporary routes.
The grain deal was concluded on July 22, 2022 by representatives of Turkey and the UN on the one hand and representatives of Russia and Ukraine on the other. As part of the negotiations, two agreements were signed between Moscow and Kiev. The first is for the export of Ukrainian grain from three ports, including Odessa, Yuzhny and Chornomorsk, the second is for assistance in the export of Russian grain and fertilizers. On July 17, 2023, Russia withdrew from the Black Sea Initiative, citing the failure to comply with the agreements regarding the lifting of restrictions on the supply of Russian products.
On July 19, the Russian Ministry of Defense declared all ships going to Ukrainian ports as potential military targets. This decision was made in connection with the termination of the “Black Sea Initiative” and the curtailment of the maritime humanitarian corridor.
