Kazakh “flying skier” Danil Vasilyev won the gold medal at the 2023 Winter Universiade in Lake Placid, USA. Vasiliev won the competition in normal ski jumping. In the first attempt, he took first place with a score of 127.2, and in the final round he finished second (130.1). In the sum of two approaches, the Kazakhstani showed the best result of 257.3, ahead of the Austrians Maximillian Linher (251.4) and Timon Pascal Kahofer (248.8), reports Sports.kz.
Other representatives of Kazakhstan showed the following results: Sergey Tkachenko – seventh (220.9), Nikita Devyatkin – ninth (216.2), Svyatoslav Nazarenko – 20th (147.3), Magzhan Amangeldyuly – 21st (144.5).
Recall that the first “gold” was brought to Kazakhstan by biathlete Vadim Kurales. He became the best in the individual race for 15 kilometers.
In addition, Kazakh hockey players defeated combatants from Slovakia (4:0), South Korea (5:1), Hungary (9:1) and Great Britain (15:1) and thus guaranteed themselves access to the playoffs.
