The governor of the Saratov region, Roman Busargin, instructed to “strengthen public order” and increase the patrolling of the streets by employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Guard. The decision was made in connection with presidential decrees, which introduced a basic readiness regime in most regions, including the Saratov region.
The region hosted the first meeting of the operational headquarters, which will coordinate the basic readiness regime. “It was instructed to pay special attention to security issues in public transport. In accordance with the decree of the President of the Russian Federation, a special mode of operation will be introduced at energy, transport, communications, utility infrastructure, and other life-support facilities,” the government of the Saratov region said in a statement to VKontakte.
President Vladimir Putin signed decrees on various levels of restrictions in the regions earlier this week. They suggest the introduction of martial law in the newly annexed subjects. In the regions bordering Ukraine, a medium level of response has been introduced, in the Central and Southern federal districts – a level of high alert, in all other regions – a level of basic alert.
