The sale of vapes with flavors will be banned from March 1, 2024, Izvestia reports.
As noted, the Ministry of Health has already prepared a list of prohibited additives.
At the same time, the largest trade networks of the Russian Federation opposed the list as edited by the ministry. Retailers argue that almost all vapes contain flavors. At the same time, as noted in the material, many countries of the world already prohibit such additives, since it is they that attract young people.
Since June 1, new restrictions on the distribution of vapes have been introduced in Russia. Now they are forbidden to sell at fairs, exhibitions and vending machines. In addition, since June 1, open display and demonstration in retail outlets has been banned. Thus, only stores and pavilions will remain the only permitted places for the retail sale of vapes.
Earlier it was reported that sales of cigarettes, electronic tobacco heaters, sticks and vapes fell by 16% in Russia over the year. Experts believe that the reasons for such dynamics were government measures to combat tobacco smoking, as well as an increase in excise taxes.
