The Russians were warned about the upcoming activation of ticks

In April, the seasonal activity of ticks is expected to begin, said Anatoly Altshtein, chief researcher at the Gamaleya Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology.
In a commentary to Ura.ru, he noted that human bites usually begin in May, 3-4 weeks after the activation of insects.
Altshtein warned that Russians are most actively bitten by ticks in Siberia, the Urals and the Far East, and therefore residents of these regions need to be vaccinated against tick-borne encephalitis.
According to him, in the European part of Russia, tick bites are less common.
