Owners of cars with Russian license plates were required to take them out of Finland

The Finnish Customs Service has issued a reminder about the imminent expiration of the period of stay in the country for vehicles registered in the Russian Federation. The ban on the entry of cars with Russian license plates was introduced by the Finnish authorities last fall.

How reports Yle, citing customs service representative Sami Rakshit, owners must remove cars with Russian registration by March 16.

At the same time, the representative of the department found it difficult to clarify what will happen to the cars that will remain in the country, as well as what kind of restrictions car owners may face. According to him, an investigation will be held into why the car remains in Finland, how long it stayed in the country and on what basis. A more detailed action plan is still in the works, Rakshit added.
