The Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) explained what the entry of Bulgaria and Croatia, as well as Romania, into the Schengen zone, which are customary for tourist trips, could turn out for Russians. The EU Council will decide on this matter on December 8 and 9, reminds “Lenta.ru”noting that, according to Western experts, this decision will be positive.
The main consequence of this change will be that the listed countries will be connected to the Schengen visa system. And from this it follows, for example, that if a Russian citizen is canceled a visa previously issued by another member state of the agreement, the Balkan countries have the right to refuse to obtain their visas.
At the same time, entry into Schengen itself will not happen instantly – there will be a transition period, usually several months. According to ATOR experts, the new Schengen states may also keep their national visas issued earlier, or even continue issuing them in the first few months.
“What you can be sure of is the amount of the visa fee: it will remain the same – 80 euros for adults, 40 euros for children,” the experts assured.
