The Russian wrestling team will not take part in the World Championship

The Russian team will not participate in the World Championship in wrestling, which will be held from September 10 to 18 in Serbia. According to the President of the Russian Wrestling Federation (FSBR) Mikhail Mamiashvili, this issue has already been resolved at the international level.
“The World Cup will definitely take place without us… This is already a settled issue,” Mr. Mamiashvili told TASS. He added that the FSBR did not appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), which decided to remove Russian athletes from the competition: “We have not filed an appeal with CAS and will not file. I don’t see a chance.”
March 2 United World Wrestling (UWW) announced on the removal of athletes from Russia from participation in international competitions due to the start of a military operation in Ukraine.
