A resident of Chelyabinsk received a sentence for killing a dog that barked at him
A Chelyabinsk court sentenced a man to one year in prison for killing a dog. This was reported in the press center of the regional prosecutor’s office.
As it became known to the investigation, in November 2023, a local resident, while intoxicated, stabbed a dachshund that was barking at him with a knife. The dog was on a leash at the time. Veterinarians tried to save the pet, but nothing worked.
A criminal case was opened against the man under Article 245 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Cruelty to an animal for the purpose of causing pain and suffering, resulting in its death.” The court sentenced him to one year in prison to be served in a maximum security colony. Previously, the man had already been prosecuted for causing grievous harm to human health.
