The verdict against a resident of the Altai Territory, who caused a riot on board a Pobeda Airlines plane in February 2023, was handed down on February 7 by the industrial district court of Barnaul. The man was found guilty under Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (hooliganism) and sentenced to two and a half years in prison. About it reported in the press service of the West Siberian Transport Prosecutor’s Office.

The investigation established that the accused, while intoxicated on board the Pobeda Airlines airliner in February last year, grossly violated public order. “Out of hooligan motives, he tried to enter the cockpit of the aircraft, using violence against the flight attendant who tried to stop his unlawful actions, thereby creating a situation that threatened the safety of the flight,” the official statement notes.

The court found the man guilty and took into account the position of the Barnaul transport prosecutor, and therefore sentenced the defendant to imprisonment for 2 years and 6 months in a general regime correctional colony.

Previously “MK” reportedthat the Ural Transport Prosecutor’s Office became interested in the brawl on board the St. Petersburg-Ekaterinburg plane. The day before, a video appeared on the Internet with citizens flying on a Ural Airlines airliner drinking, smoking and being noisy. Witnesses claimed that the crew of the aircraft did not make any comments to them. After the plane landed, the rowdies started a fight on the bus that was carrying passengers to the airport.
