The Russian Union of Martial Arts has formed a detachment of volunteers to participate in the SVO

The Russian Union of Martial Arts has formed a detachment of 100 volunteers to participate in a special operation in Ukraine, said Yury Trutnev, presidential envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District (FEFD).

“A detachment of volunteers has been formed – there are more than 90 of them. They are all present in this hall – these are masters of sports of international class, honored masters of sports, first-class athletes, all those with whom we shed sweat together in training, ”Trutnev said at the opening of the martial arts forum “Battle of Champions – 14: Schools against Schools” (quote according to TASS).

Later, his press service explained that the detachment consisted of 98 volunteers who would be fully staffed and trained at the military center in Gudermes.

Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals. During the special operation, Russian troops took control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of Russia, and on October 19 martial law was introduced in the regions.

Partial mobilization in Russia began on September 21 by decree of the country’s president. On October 28, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu reported on the completion of partial mobilization. On October 31, the Ministry of Defense announced the final completion of all activities carried out as part of the call for partial mobilization, including the issuance of subpoenas. Later, Putin also confirmed this, emphasizing that this issue was “put to an end.”
