NPO Androidnaya Tekhnika announced that the Russian robot Marker will be equipped with a small-sized BAS-80 kamikaze drone specially created for it. The drone has a shock orientation and can be delivered to the target with high accuracy.
Drone “BAS-80” was created to provide the robot “Marker” with additional capabilities. Now “BAS-80” is being tested without a warhead, but in the future it will be used as a strike system.
The chief developer of the company, Evgeny Dudorov, told RIA Novosti about the performance characteristics of the BAS-80 kamikaze drone. It weighs 1.7 kilograms without a warhead and can carry a payload of about 600 grams. The flight range is up to 30 kilometers, and the time spent in the air reaches 18 minutes.
Android Technology specialists are now working on technologies for launching, controlling and delivering a kamikaze drone. In addition, Dudorov noted that these unmanned vehicles are lighter and cheaper than those currently used by the Russian army.
Earlier, the company sent four copies of the Marker robot for testing in the Donbass, where they were used to practice the delivery of goods and the use of an optoelectronic module with a payload.
