The Russian powerlifting championship will take place for the first time in the Murmansk Athletics Arena from February 22 to 25. About 200 strongmen from 30 regions of the country plan to take part in the competition, reports the government of the Kola Arctic.
Our region will be represented by 11 athletes from the regional center, Kirovsk and Olenegorsk. It is specified that they will have to demonstrate their skills in triathlon, which includes squats with a barbell, bench press and deadlift.
In addition, it became known that our fellow countryman Oleg Rybka, a multiple winner and prize-winner of Russian championships, international and all-Russian powerlifting competitions, will also participate. His best amount in triathlon is 540 kg.
Earlier it was reported that the finals of the Winter Spartakiad of ski mountaineering students would be held in Kirovsk. “MK in Murmansk” wrote that 60 Russians from nine regions will fight for victory.
