The Russian Orthodox Church reports on the Volgograd sect under the leadership of the “Emperor of All Rus’”

The sect “Russian Orthodox Church – Tsarist Empire” has appeared in the Volgograd region, reports the press service of the Volgograd diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church. According to the clergy, information about the new religious movement came from the Anti-Sectarian Service of the Western Vicariate of Moscow.

The Russian Orthodox Church calls the sect “totalitarian” and notes that it is led by four-time convicted Leonid Vlasov, who calls himself “Patriarch-Tsar-Prophet Ilya.” His closest confidant is “Metropolitan of All Rus’ and Prophet Enoch” Alexander Kormishenko.

The Russian Orthodox Church notes that followers of the sect are posting notices on the doors of religious buildings; the first action took place at the Church of the New Martyrs and Confessors of the Russian Church in Volzhsky.

“The organization is recruiting believers with the aim of creating within the Russian Federation the so-called independent state “Triune Rus’”, where Leonid Vlasov is given the title of “sovereign patriarch and emperor of all Rus’”,”— noted in the Volgograd diocese.
