The “Trinity” icon by Andrei Rublev will be in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior until June 23, on the Day of the Holy Trinity it will be moved to the Trinity-Sergius Lavra. Information about this was confirmed by the head of the legal department of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC), Abbess Ksenia (Chernega).

“Indeed, in connection with the appeal of His Holiness the Patriarch and in accordance with the agreement concluded in December 2023 between the Lavra and the courtyard of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, the icon is in temporary storage in the Temple until June 23 of this year, that is, until the Feast of the Holy Trinity. On June 23, the icon will be moved to the Lavra, since the icon was transferred to the Lavra for free use,” said Abbess Ksenia (quoted from RIA Novosti).

The agreement on the transfer of the “Trinity” to the Trinity-Sergius Lavra for free use for 49 years with the possibility of extension was signed on July 12, 2023 by Patriarch Kirill and Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova. Before this, the icon was in the Tretyakov Gallery. January 5 “Trinity” delivered to the Cathedral of Christ the Savior for Christmas services. Information that on June 23 the icon will be moved to the Trinity-Sergius Lavra during the service on January 7 voiced broadcast host theologian Alexey Svetozarsky.
